This untouched and original Art Deco men’s wristwatch was made by the Bulova (Westfield) Watch Company and dates to the late 1920s (ca 1928 - 1929). This is a “TROJAN” model, marketed by Westfield who were the sibling brand of Bulova. It features a finely engraved, hinged back case. It measures 35mm lug tip to lug tip and 25mm in width.
The 100% original dial is in great condition for being over 90 years old...just a touch of age, as you can see. It features original cathedral-style blue steel hands with radium fill, 60-minute inner track border, radium finished Arabic numbers and a tonneau-shape sub-seconds dial with original blue steel seconds hand. Signed “TROJAN” below the 12 and “SWISS” at the base. The original solid glass crystal is in great condition.
The hinged-back case is 10kt. White Rolled Gold Plated and in great condition. The engraved bezel, sides are excellent and the back lid only shows some light brassing. The original winding crown is in great shape, setting the hands as it should.
Inside is the original manual wind mechanism, signed American Standard Watch Co. [Caliber] 10B – Six 6 Jewels, 2 Two Adj. – Swiss The American Standard Watch Company was a Bulova trademarked name. The inside case back is signed PROVIDENCE WATCH CASE CO. – ROLLED PLATE – 29726, SWISS. Again, the Providence Watch Case Co. was a Bulova-owned company.
